Maguire subsidiary opens in Taiwan

Auxiliary equipment maker Maguire Products Inc. has established its sixth international subsidiary in Taichung City, Taiwan. A grand opening took place Sept. 26 at the facility.

The new company, Maguire Products Taiwan Co. Ltd., will serve the growing Taiwanese market for plastics auxiliary equipment. It will also provide sales and technical support for Maguire equipment, including gravimetric blenders, liquid color pumps, vacuum dryers and granulators, among other products.

A select number of fully assembled machines and a full range of spare parts will be stocked at the Taichung City facility, which also has a demonstration area for customers to see Maguire equipment in operation.

"Maguire has created Maguire Taiwan to provide direct service to a market of considerable size and importance that until now we have served through agents," Hubert Nerlich, managing director of Singapore's Maguire Products Asia Pte., said in a statement.

"There are many Taiwanese plastics processors operating both domestically and abroad, plus a large number of OEM suppliers who specify our auxiliary systems for use in complete production lines," he said.

Maguire Products Taiwan will operate as a subsidiary of Maguire Products Asia. Danniel Hsieh will serve as general manager of the Taiwanese business.

Maguire is based in Aston, Pa. In addition to China and Taiwan, the company has operations elsewhere in North America as well as in Europe, Canada, Africa and the Middle East. At K 2019 in Düsseldorf, Germany, Maguire will be at Hall 10, Booth A26.

"International sales are a substantial part of Maguire's business and, in fact, our weigh scale blender is the most widely used blender in the world," Frank Kavanagh, vice president of marketing and sales at Maguire, said in a statement. "Our global network of subsidiaries and agents ensures that customers everywhere receive expert sales and technical service, and ready access to equipment made to the same exacting standards of precision, reliability and ease of use."
